Mission Statement

The mission of Starflight Enterprises is the provision of residential, clinical and other support services to adolescents and adults with specialized intellectual, social, and emotional needs. Starflight's goal is to provide these services in the least restrictive and most functional setting. Starflight also strives to develop and provide services in a manner that respects the individuality and fundamental rights of all individuals.

Describe your quality assurance practices, including any agency accreditations.

Supervisory staff complete quality assurance visits and assessments on a weekly basis in each residential unit. Agency is currently developing a comprehensive, data-based quality assurance program that will be used to pinpoint areas of strengths and weaknesses, by house, staff, clients, referral source, etc. for review on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis. This program will be used as a guide to develop competencies and to evaluate individual program components for program improvement.

How Does Your Agency Support People In Becoming Active Members Of Their Community?

Individuals are supported and assisted to participate in community-based activities such as spectator sports, worship services, and other recreationsal activities. Home visits which involves family members are encouraged and assisted where possible.

Steps Individuals Must Take to Apply for Services:

Application for services may be initiated by telephone to Starflight, or by contacting the Howard County Service Coordination office at (410)772-8774. The application process can include personal interviews with administrative staff, with direct care staff, and can include visits to prospective residential sites.
