Unique and Distinctive Qualities

Service Source's day habilitation services offer an intense staff to consumer ratio. They accommodate individuals with multiple disabilities, behavioral support, and self care needs. There are community and center based settings available.

Service Source's commercial and government contracts division offers employment in mail rooms, stocking, shipping and receiving, furniture moving, clerical, digital imaging, switchboard, and food service.

Service Source's Individual Placement services offer situational assessments that allow the job seeker to try out a job, travel training on public transportation to and from the job; job coaching and on the job training; and other services.

Community transitional services offer travel training, social and recreational activities, community resource instruction, job shadowing, and other services.

The Laurie Miller Self Help Employment Center is a consumer operated employment center that provides career support, training, and information to persons with disabilities. The center is housed at FOU and open on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings; and Saturday mornings.

Technology oriented work opportunities have become the focus of its strategic plan. In Northern Virginia, there is a great need for information technology employees, at all levels. Recent grants have allowed the agency to become competitive in that department. Service Source is starting up an extensive CAD (computer aided design), computer programming, and data entry training program. Telecommuting will be an integral part of the operation. Service Source value customer support consistent with respect for the individual; exemplary customer service; corporate growth consistent with its mission; and returned value to customers, employees, and stakeholders.
