Mision Statement

The mission of Family Source Foundation, Inc. is to provide counseling, mental health services, advocacy and support programs to individuals and families during their lifespan, with special emphasis on the deaf, the deaf-blind and the developmentally disabled by maximamizing their quality of life; and encourage their fullest participation in their community of choice.

Unique and Distinctive Qualities

Family Service Foundation, Inc. has been providing services to individuals and families in need of comfort, education and guidance or support for the past 69 years. Family Service Foundation provides mental health and developmental disability services to vulnerable individuals in Maryland. Family Service Foundation serves hearing as well as deaf and deaf-blind individuals, and the Family Service Foundation's HIV Deaf Aids Program is one of the most diverse in the Metropolitan area.

Describe your quality assurance practices, including any agency accreditations?

Family Services Foundation, Inc. is committed to ensuring that individuals served are healthy, safe and receive services and supports that meet their needs. Quality Assurance and Improvement Plan information is gathered from a variety of sources in order to set bench marks for improvement including: incident, Office of Health Care Quality and Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) surveys and service quality reviews. Following are key purposes of the Service Review:

  1. Identify positive practice and areas for improvements in service and supports
  2. Family Service Foundation's Quality plan is part of the action steps to remediate problems and ensure compliance with DDA policies and procedures
  3. The service Quality Reviews generate system-wide trends and, in conjunction with information from the Quality Management process, will be used to develop strategies for improvement across all services and supports.
