Mission Statement

REM Maryland, Inc. (REM) is a division of the MENTOR Network. The philosophy with regard to providing services is as stated in the below statement of MENTOR's mission and core values.

MENTOR Maryland's mission is to create a system of acre that will provide individuals with complex conditions options for living in the community, supports for attaining independence, and opportunities to grow and develop personal connections in natural settings. MENTOR Maryland believes that individuals should have opportunity to receive services and supports in their own communities, regardless of the complexity of their conditions, severity of their disabilities, or the challenges of their behavior.

REM serves both adults and adolescent populations. This enables REM to provide a full continuum of acre through the transition into adult services. REM accept individuals in need of extension behavioral interventions.

Describe your quality assurance practices, including any agency accreditations.

REM utilizes the extensive Quality assurance program developed by the Mentor Network. The Quality assurance team evaluates each home on a monthly basis and requires a plan of corection to address any connections. In addition to the quality assurance team, various members of the REM team perform unaanounced site visits. This team includes Program Coordinators, Program Directors, and the Sr. Program Director. REM has in house maintenance staff to ensure a quick response time for all maintenance issues.

How Does Your Agency Support People In Becoming Active Members Of Their Community?

REM Maryland provides ALU sites in active neighborhood settings. All individuals are supported and encouraged to participate in community activities, like religious services, civic organizations, sports teams, and social clubs. Individuals in the REM program, also belong to private gyms, take enrichment classes, attend cultural events and organize social functions. Each site has scheduled community activities throughout the month.

Individuals or their caregivers should contact their local Service Coordination office or Department of Social Services to determine eligibility.
