Potomac Center provides the comforts of home to people with intellectual disabilities so they may reach their full potential.


Vision

Provide supports and resources to Marylanders with intellectual disabilities to assist them in meeting defined needs during transitional periods in their lives


Unique or Distinctive Qualities

Potomac Center has developed and maintained a high level of performance in the field of intellectual disabilities. Since 1984, the Center has successfully undergone voluntary accreditation surveys by The Council on Quality and Leadership. This organization sets very high standards for agencies serving people with intellectual disabilities. Over the years, the Center has also successfully completed many state surveys conducted by the Office of Health Care Quality and Legislative Audits.

Employees are provided ample training opportunities inclusive of introduction to most current trends in the field of intellectual disabilities. The Center has had many opportunities to benchmark with other facilities and agencies throughout the state and the country
