The mission of Maryland Community Connection is to primarily establish, operate, and maintain services in the community for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities. Maryland Community Connection services assist each person to achieve a greater degree of social and economic independence and reduce the need for subsidized lifestyles.
Through trained, qualified, and compensated staff, Maryland Community Connection services will assist each person to achieve a greater degree of social and economic independence and reduce the need for subsidized lifestyles.
Maryland Community Connection policy requires that these services be provided to eligible Maryland participants without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, gender, or marital status.
One of the great things about MCC is that it allows you to be part of something that is much larger than yourself. MCC is dedicated to supporting and celebrating the achievements of individuals with disabilities.
MCC sets the following priorities when it comes to supporting individuals with disabilities:
MCC will request participation in the "Ask Me!" survey sponsored by DDA and the ARC of Maryland. The results of the "Ask Me" survey will be implemented into MCC's Quality Assurance Plan. If the results show the need for additional areas to be targeted to increase individual satisafaction, Maryland Community Connection's Quality Assurance Committee will be charged with implementing the needed changes.
The "Ask Me!" Survey Results is available for the general public
Maryland Community Connection (MCC) will provide Quality Assurance functions formally with the inception of its Quality Assurance Committee (the Committee). It was the position of the Board of Directors that if MCC could lower the "risk" of providing services to individuals, MCC would thereby raise the quality of those services. The Board decreed that such a Committee be formed and appointed one of its members as their representative on the committee. In addition to the Board Member, the Committee will also have staff representatives. Outside members will include several individuals and several representatives from the community at large.
The Committee will conduct safety surveys of the sites and will extend out into other areas such as Human Rights and Behavior Management.
The Committee's mission is to improve the quality of services to individuals and to minimize the adverse effects of loss exposure to MCC regarding problems or situations that may pose risks to individuals, employees, volunteers or the oraganization in general, and to make recommendation s concerning supports and assistance that will improve the individuals' satisfaction with those services
Maryland Community Connection provides community recreational, employment and supported employment services to individuals with developmental disabilities in Prince George's County, Maryland. Maryland Community Connection services include job development, technology access, job search, resume and application development, job training, and job retention.
All individuals or referring agency interested in applying for services with Maryland Community Connection must contact MCC at its administrative offices at (301)583-0358.
