Mission Statement

All Individuals must be given the opportunity to develop their abilities, to make choices, and to participate in community life. The individuals with disabilities CHI serves have the right to support, experiences and environment necessary to foster their abilities.

It is the mission of CHI Centers to join with others to create the conditions that allow all persons with disabilities to have opportunities to participate in community life; to have choices in the pursuit of personal growth; to maintain positive relationships with family, friends and neighbors; and to be afforded respect and dignity.

Unique or Distinctive Qualities

CHI Centers serves all individuals with developmental disabilities and does not serve just one type of disability. CHI Centers serves individuals with mild to severe disabilities, especially those individuals with challenging medical and behavioral issues in day programs.

The agency has used the results of the Ask Me survey in its annual quality assurance and management report and works with its program participants in improving the quality of its services based on the results of the Ask Me survey.

CHI centers programs and services are accredited by CARF. The Agency also has internal quality assurance teams that visit agency programs on a quarterly basis. The agency also has assigned a resource manager to each of its program participants.

How Does Your Agency Support People In Becoming Active Members Of Their Community?

The agency recently was awarded a grant to register individuals with developmental disabilities to vote. The has involved in program participants in becoming members of civic and community organizations. The agency sponsors small group activities during the week and after work to support community activities.
