Supported Employment, Family Support Services, Individual Support Services, Resource Coordination, Community Supported Living Arrangements, Vocational Day Program/Sheltered Workshop, Transportation, and Respite Care

AIDS, Autism, Mental Retardation, Autism, Orthopedic Impairment, Cerebral Palsy, Chemical Dependency, Mental Disorder, Behavioral Problems, Specific Learning Disability, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Speech/Language Impairment, Epilepsy/Seizure Disorder, Spina Bifida, Spinal Cord Injury, and Other Neurological Impairment.

Mission Statement

To offer services and opportunities to individuals with disabilities which empower them to achieve social and economic growth, through leadership and innovation, through cost-effective programs, and by facilitating a process which leads to community integration and informed choices.

Unique or Distinctive Qualities

Alliance specializes in preparing individuals for employment and providing individualized supported employment, and family and individual support services all strive to facilitate independence, educated choices and self-determination, providing a continuum of services form career assessments to work adjustment training to supported employment. Individuals have the option of participating in Alliance's onsite Vocational Services program, whch focuses primarily on work activity, to community-based employment. Customized employment andlliance, Inc. has the experience and expertise to serve individuals with a wide range of disabilities, including hearing impairments, visual impairments, and autism spectrum disorders, and welcomes students from the Governor's Transitioning Youth Initiative. Alliance is also an Employment Network under Social Security's Ticket to Work Program. Alliance's programs are CARF accredited.

Alliance uses the survey and its own satisfaction survey results to continually examine and improve its programs and processes. Describe your quality assurance practices, including any agency accreditations.

Alliance, Inc. has maintained its CARF accreditation for many years, and employs a Director of Quality Assurance and a Chief Compliance Officer to oversee programmatic quality and compliance. Program goals and initiatives are established and monitored on a regular basis. Staff are regularly trained in compliance and quality issues, and a team approach is employed for process improvement.

How Does Your Agency Support People In Becoming Active Members Of Their Community?

Most of Alliance's services are community-based rather than center-based. The large majority of DDA-funded individuals are employed in community-based competitive jobs, and others choose to volunteer at community locations as Movable feast and the Salvation Army. Although Alliance provides transportation to some individuals, it provides mobility training wherever possible. Community integration is promoted in other ways as well, such as with social and educational outings for those in its vocational day program. Individuals are also oriented to community resources such as libraries and one-stop centers.

Contact the Manager of Intake and Case Coordination at (410)282-5900, ext. 3085 to schedule and interview or request a referral form. Tours are also provided on request for group or individuals.

Special Considerations/Comments: Alliance also has expertise in psychiatric rehabilitation, case management, and working with non-developmental disabilities, thus is uniquely able to serve dually-diagnosed individuals. Excellent relationships are in place with the Division of Rehabitation Services and the Mental Health Administration.
